Black History Month

I am Black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. (Songs of Solomon 1:5)

At Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, we pride ourselves on embracing our heritage, history and building a legacy for the future. Throughout the United States of America, the month of February has been set aside to recognize the struggles, hardships, but more importantly the contributions and accomplishments of Black people in America. Not only does Mount Olive pay homage to our past, as well as our present during Black History Month, we acknowledge the vital roles and contributions of Blacks in this country and the African Diaspora, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days of the year. A little known Black History fact, the Black church was the first source of land ownership for Black African slaves in America. Even today, Mount Olive serves has a place for refuge just like the Black church did during the Underground Railroad and after signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Walk by faith, and not by sight, "Christ will continue to bless His people"
